Rolland House was a training college run by the Presbyterian Church for deaconesses and missionaries and was located on the site of the former St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, which was demolished in the late 1930s. The College had been based at Carlton in 1915 although had been founded as early as 1898.1

The organ was built in 1947 by Hill, Norman & Beard (Australia) Pty Ltd, order number V204. It was totally enclosed and placed behind wooden grillework in a chamber to the left of the very small chapel. On the closure of the College, around 1983, the organ was sadly broken up and the parts used elsewhere.
