This modern brick building was originally built in the mid-1960s, then enlarged in the mid-1970s into a wide, lofty church capable of accommodating 500 people.

The organ, originally a single manual instrument with seven stops and pedal pulldowns, was built in 1961 by Verschueren Orgelbouw, Heythuysen, Holland, for the Free Reformed Church, Rotterdam. The Rotterdam church was closed in the early 1970s and the organ packed up for disposal. A chance visit by the FRC Albany Minister, the Revd J.D. Wielenga, caused the gifting of the organ to the Albany congregation. It was installed in the newly enlarged Albany Church in 1974 by the church's organist John Plug and F.J. Larner & Co of Perth. The second manual was added by John Plug in 1980. A mechanical pedal division, commenced in 1990 by John Plug, was not finished owing to his untimely death. The pedal division was completed in 1993 on new electric slider chests by F.J. Larner and Co. A new pedal bellows was built and installed in 2002 by Patrick Elms & Co to replace an earlier one of unorthodox and unsuitable design. The pedal division layout re-organized and its tonal scheme revised in 2004 by Patrick Elms & Co, which included some revoicing of poorly matched pipework so as to blend better with the Verschueren chorus.
