In anticipation of the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977, the present church building was constructed alongside the earlier Methodist church to accommodate the combined Methodist and Presbyterian congregations, who had worshipped for more than fifty years on opposite sides of Station Road. It was known initially as the Indooroopilly Co-operative Church.

The organ was built by H.W. Jarrott of Brisbane originally for the old Methodist Church building in Indooroopilly in 1962. It comprised just one manual and pedals, as follows:

The pipework and console of the original Methodist organ were incorporated into a larger organ by H.W. Jarrott, designed as a completely new instrument for the combined church. To the existing four stops, four new ranks were added, two of these being used for extensive 'extension' on the Great and Pedals. The organ was completed in 1976 and officially dedicated on Thursday 12 August that year. The guest organist and choir for the Service of Dedication and recital following were Mr Graeme Morton and the choir of Toowong Methodist Church.2
